MUSIC
Enjoy music on a much larger scale at the only national park dedicated to live entertainment 3 miles from downtown Vienna. Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts is a majestic natural setting featuring music and performances from all genres.

Another music venue in Vienna, Jammin’ Java, is ranked as one of the top 100 clubs in the world according to ticket sales by Pollstar Magazine, Jammin’ Java is one of the premier concert venues in the United States and remains a staple of the Washington, DC area music community.

SHOPPING
Main Street downtown is called Maple Ave., and is busy with restaurants & businesses. Can’t find what you want on Maple Ave.? A block away, parallel to Maple Ave., is Church Street, a picturesque street to stroll, sip a cup of coffee, walk the dog, and shop.

Everyone’s favorite stop is Freeman House, a true historic treat, where one can browse an excellent array of gifts including Vienna gifts, locally made gifts, retro toys, “penny” cand, pick up a book and learn some history of the area.

If you’re in town on a Saturday, pick up some fresh fruits and veggies at the farmer’s market.

April
Walk on the Hill & Green Expo
Walk on the Hill is a spring garden tour in the historic district held the last Sunday afternoon in April. The annual Green Expo, hosted by the Community Enhancement Commission, is part of this event as well.

May
Viva! Vienna!
The annual ViVa! Vienna! Town Festival is held on Church Street during Memorial Day weekend. Festivities include arts and crafts vendors, live music, food and beverage sales, children’s entertainment, a special Memorial Day ceremony, and booths showcasing Vienna-area businesses and community service organizations. ViVa! Vienna! is operated by the Vienna Rotary Club.

July
4th of July Celebration

October
Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest is held the first Saturday of October. The day’s activities include food, entertainment, vendors and crafters, children’s events, and a beer garden.

Halloween Parade
One of Vienna’s most popular community events, October’s Halloween parade is held on Maple Avenue the Wednesday evening before Halloween each year (except when Halloween falls on Thursday – in which case, the parade is held the preceding week).

November
Holiday Stroll
The annual Holiday Stroll on historic Church Street is held the Monday evening after Thanksgiving. Church Street is closed to vehicular traffic between Lawyers Road and Mill Street, and visitors are invited to stroll along the street amid the sights and sounds of the holiday season. Santa Claus greets children at the Freeman House.
